DSIP
Emideltide nonapeptide — older sleep lit; unresolved physiology; no modern approved insomnia claim.
Editorial review:Evidence snapshot
This drawer marks papers. It is not a plan, a dose, or a source. A paper is a bounded report. It is not a protocol. Grades name the object. They are not a safety rating.
Identity lock. DSIP (delta sleep-inducing peptide; INN emideltide) is the nonapeptide Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu. PubChem CID 68816; formula C35H48N10O15 / MW 848.8; CAS 62568-57-4 (also historical 69431-45-4). Literature spans 1970s–1990s sleep physiology plus scattered later experimental uses. Modern confirmatory insomnia RCTs meeting current standards are thin. This drawer marks papers. It is not use advice.
Bottom line
Foundational sequence/synthesis and older human sleep-disturbance studies exist, but reviewers still describe DSIP as an unresolved riddle physiologically. Do not treat classic sleep papers as proof of a modern approved sleep drug or gray-market recovery peptide.
Papers
Identity / foundational reviews
PMID 568769 — Schoenenberger 1978
Tested: amino-acid analysis, sequence, synthesis, and activity of the DSIP nonapeptide (foundational chemistry/physiology).
Does not show: a contemporary Phase 3 insomnia approval.
PMID 6145137 — Graf 1984
Tested: review of DSIP biology.
Does not show: modern confirmatory clinical package.
PMID 3550726 — Graf 1986
Tested: DSIP update review.
Does not show: resolved mechanism or modern RCT standard.
PMID 16539679 — Kovalzon 2006
Tested: narrative that DSIP remains a still-unresolved riddle.
Does not show: that later gray-market use resolved the physiology.
Older human sleep / experimental
PMID 7028502 — Schneider-Helmert 1981
Tested: influence of synthetic DSIP on disturbed human sleep (early clinical sleep study).
Does not show: a large modern double-blind insomnia program meeting current endpoints.
Later experimental (not sleep-drug grades)
PMID 34500605 — Tukhovskaya 2021
Tested: DSIP recovering motor function in SD rats after focal stroke (preclinical neuro framing).
Does not show: human stroke or insomnia efficacy.
PMID 6897451 — Banks 1982
Tested: DSIP crossing the blood–brain barrier in dogs with protein-binding correlations (PK/BBB science).
Does not show: human therapeutic proof.
What is not established
Modern approved insomnia indication from this pack. That early human sleep studies equal current evidence standards. Resolved endogenous physiological role (still contested). Equivalence of unlabeled “DSIP” products to synthetic emideltide used historically. This drawer does not provide use advice, schedules, or sourcing.
