Thymalin

Thymic polypeptide complex — ≠ thymalfasin ≠ TB-500 ≠ Tβ4.

Editorial review:
What evidence says

Evidence snapshot

This drawer marks papers. It is not a plan, a dose, or a source. A paper is a bounded report. It is not a protocol. Grades name the object. They are not a safety rating.

Identity lock. Thymalin is a polypeptide complex isolated from thymus (Khavinson / Morozov-line Russian thymic-peptide literature), not a single INN monomer like thymalfasin. No single PubChem parent CID is locked for the complex in this drawer — prefer that honesty over inventing a monomer badge. PubChem name collision: searching “Thymalin” can return Nonathymulin (CID 3085284) — wrong object; do not badge. Related but distinct: Thymogen (Glu-Trp / EW dipeptide, CID 100094) appears in some Thymalin composition/gene-expression papers as a component dipeptide — still not identical to the complex. Thymalin ≠ Thymosin Alpha-1 (thymalfasin) ≠ TB-500 / Ac-LKKTETQ ≠ full Tβ4 ≠ Nonathymulin. This drawer marks papers. It is not use advice.

Bottom line

Evidence is dominated by Khavinson-group hematopoiesis / immune-aging papers, older geroprotective narratives, in-vivo tumor/thymus work, and COVID-era observational or complex-therapy reports. Controlled Western-style confirmatory RCTs with clear primary endpoints are thin or absent in this PubMed set. Do not grade Thymalin papers as thymosin alpha-1 evidence, and do not turn 2002–2003 geroprotective program narratives into an anti-aging glow.

Papers

Human hematopoietic / immune differentiation and complex therapy

PMID 33237528 — Khavinson 2020

Tested: influence of Thymalin on differentiation markers of human hematopoietic stem cells and related immune-molecule expression (laboratory / translational human-cell object).

Does not show: a large confirmatory clinical RCT for infection mortality, or identity with thymalfasin.

PMID 33575961 — Khavinson 2021

Tested: results/prospects narrative for using a hematopoietic stem-cell differentiation activator (Thymalin-line framing) in complex therapy for COVID-19 patients.

Does not show: a double-blind placebo-controlled mortality RCT equivalent to TESTS for thymosin α1; observational/complex-therapy context.

PMID 36169363 — Kuznik 2022

Tested: morphological and blood-clotting indicators in severe COVID-19 patients of middle and older age in a Thymalin-associated clinical series (Russian-language clinical context).

Does not show: confirmatory randomized efficacy, or thymosin alpha-1 interchangeability.

Composition / dipeptide components (related objects — keep tagged)

PMID 37686182 — Linkova 2023

Tested: influence of KE and EW dipeptides in the composition of the Thymalin drug on gene expression and protein synthesis (component-dipeptide mechanistic work).

Does not show: that KE or EW alone equal the full Thymalin complex clinical claim, or that Thymogen (EW) is Thymalin.

PMID 11707921 — Anisimov 2000

Tested: synthetic dipeptide L-Glu-L-Trp (Thymogen-class object) on aging and spontaneous carcinogenesis in rats.

Does not show: human Thymalin RCT efficacy; dipeptide ≠ complex.

Older geroprotective / thymic-peptide narratives

PMID 12577695 — Khavinson 2002

Tested: geroprotective framing of thymalin and epithalamin (secondary clinical/experimental narrative).

Does not show: modern controlled human anti-aging proof, or Epitalon identity.

PMID 12374906 — Khavinson 2002

Tested: broad “peptides and ageing” overview including thymic/pineal peptide programs.

Does not show: a single pivotal Thymalin RCT.

PMID 14523363 — Khavinson 2003

Tested: narrative that pineal and thymus peptides prolong human life (program-level claim paper).

Does not show: a contemporary placebo-controlled longevity trial meeting modern standards.

PMID 9637345 — Morozov 1997

Tested: review of natural and synthetic thymic peptides as therapeutics for immune dysfunction (includes Thymalin-line context).

Does not show: a modern Phase 3 package for unlabeled consumer use.

Preclinical / experimental (not human grades)

PMID 29797130 — Zhukova 2018

Tested: Thymalin effects on tumor and thymus under activation-therapy conditions in vivo.

Does not show: a human oncology indication.

What is not established

A clean single-molecule PubChem identity for Thymalin. Equivalence to thymosin alpha-1 / thymalfasin, TB-500, or Tβ4. Modern Western confirmatory RCTs with hard clinical primaries. Anti-aging or COVID mortality claims from observational/complex-therapy reports. That Nonathymulin or Thymogen PubChem hits are the Thymalin complex. This drawer does not provide use advice, schedules, or sourcing.
