Oxytocin Acetate
Cyclic nonapeptide — labeled obstetric objects exist; investigational IN social/metabolic uses are a different context.
Editorial review:Evidence snapshot
This drawer marks papers. It is not a plan, a dose, or a source. A paper is a bounded report. It is not a protocol. Grades name the object. They are not a safety rating.
Identity lock. Oxytocin is a cyclic nonapeptide neurohypophyseal hormone. PubChem CID 439302; formula C43H66N12O12S2 / MW 1007.2; CAS 50-56-6. “Oxytocin acetate” names the common salt form of the same peptide object. Labeled obstetric objects (labor induction/augmentation; postpartum hemorrhage prevention/treatment under jurisdiction-specific product labels) exist and are distinct from investigational intranasal / social-cognition / metabolic research uses. This drawer marks papers for education. It is not use advice and does not replace labeled product information.
Bottom line
Strongest human evidence cluster is obstetric physiology and PPH-prevention meta-analyses around labeled oxytocin use. Intranasal oxytocin has a large experimental literature (trust, social cognition, obesity/metabolic pilots) with mixed replication and known measurement/myth hazards. Do not treat social-cognition or obesity pilots as interchangeable with labor/PPH labeled indications. Labeled obstetric objects ≠ investigational intranasal social/metabolic research.

Tested: critical review of myths and delusions around intranasal oxytocin (delivery, dose, CSF claims).
Does not show: that popular intranasal narratives are settled pharmacology.

Tested: intranasal oxytocin for obesity (clinical trial / obesity-program framing).
Does not show: a labeled obesity indication interchangeable with obstetric oxytocin products.
PMID 31803919 — McCormack 2020
Tested: review of metabolic effects of oxytocin.
Does not show: a completed pivotal metabolic approval package for intranasal oxytocin acetate.
Tool / receptor context
PMID 22375852 — Manning 2012
Tested: oxytocin and vasopressin agonists/antagonists as research tools and potential therapeutics.
Does not show: consumer peptide use guidance.
What is not established
That social-cognition or obesity pilot signals equal labeled obstetric indications. That “oxytocin acetate” research vials are interchangeable with regulated obstetric products. Uncritical CSF-delivery claims for intranasal routes (see Leng 2016). This drawer does not provide use advice, schedules, or sourcing.
